Meet April

Hi, I’m April, owner and founder of The Confectionery Lounge.

I’m 32, a mummy to Adaline, live with my partner of almost 13 years, and have a strong love for houseplants and gardening outside of family time and the business.

I started my business back in April 2018 after years of dreaming of running my own business since leaving school at 18.

Prior to taking the leap into the world of self employed Small Business owner, I worked for 10 years in retail, working my way up to store management for a large department store. As much as I enjoyed being in retail, and almost felt like I ran my own business by having my own store, it just wasn’t the same, so in April 2018, I started planning.

After 15 months of running The Confectionery Lounge as a side hustle alongside my full time work, it was time to make the big decision to go full time self employed, and I have never looked back.

The Confectionery Lounge was created to embrace our love of food as a nation, bringing experiences to weddings and events through confectionery hire and services, and of course doing so with only the most delicious confectionery around.

At the heart of the business is our traditional sweet cart. I will always have a soft spot for this beautiful concept, as it truly was the humble beginning of my dream, and is how I have gotten where I am today.

But the empire is about so much more than just sweets now. With a portfolio spanning cookies, brownies, donuts, savoury grazing and alternative wedding cakes and favours, we are truly taking the world of beautiful food styling by storm.

When i’m not in full force wedding season, the business now delivers delicious confectionery through our online store right to customers doors, as well as thorough our pop up shops at markets and events throughout the year. Our delicious handmade fudge is what we are known best for. Our melt in the mouth handmade fudge is creamy, smooth and just simply divine. There isn’t a better feeling than knowing we are able to bring the delicious experience of gorgeous confectionery to peoples homes through gifts and treats for yourself.
